The brother of parsnip - 77272
Patterns to do Before
- parsnip PPzPz
(and all the patterns recommended to do before parsnip)
The Brother of Parsnip
Sequence: A starts and has straight passes, B has crossing passes.
A 1|1: P Z Z P P B 1|2: P P P Z Z
Alternate start:
A 2|2: P P P Z Z B 0|1: Z Z P P P
P=pass
Z=zip
This pattern is very similar in difficulty and style to parsnip, but feels less "nice", because of the double-zip.
Additional Things to Do
This pattern suddenly becomes "The cool brother of parsnip", if you do one of the two zips behind your back and of the zip-zips one behind your back and one in front, making hoop-like motions with your waist. At this point it becomes a super cool and funny pattern. Try it! There is two variants of this - you can either do the first or the second zip behind your back. I kind of prefer to always do the first zip behind my back because this is effortless the same motion as I have when there is only a single zip. But doing the second zip behind your back also has some merits, as this means that you will bring the zip from behind your back for the next pass - meaning that you will do the throw automatically from a far extended position behind you. While after a normal zip you have to first extend the club backwards besides your knee before you can do a proper pass.
Companion Patterns
- parsnip This has the same throws ordered differently
- 6-club 1-count - 3p - this is of similar difficulty. It's good to practice both patterns, as both tend to make you pick up different bad habits.
Next Patterns
- PPPPz - 77772 - 6 clubs, feels already pretty close to 7 club one-count. This should be very doable if your parsnip and its compagnion patterns are all stable and feel easy.
