Patterns to do before this one
The sequence of the pattern is zap, zap, zip, pass, self. There are several well-known patterns which are a partial sequence of this one:
- zap zap zip
- 720 - zip-pass
- 2-count (with passes from the left as well as with passes from the right hand)
- 3-count and/or PPS (pass, pass, self) to practice passes from both hands
- The long zap-zap-zip 56252 the same pattern with a zip instead of a pass.
More general, for good high passes and zaps:
This pattern brings together a lot of variety from all kinds of different patterns, so there's many patterns to suggest to do before trying this one. That just means it shares a lot of features with simpler patterns, not necessarily that it is extremely difficult. I.e. do not be deterred by the long list of pre-requisite patterns if you feel like you want to try it.
